Regional Networks and Associations

Despite the growing international trend towards increased regional multilateralism, integration, and cooperation in health and other sectors, there is limited literature examining the relationships, power dynamics, limitations, and strategic advantages of regional bodies. To enhance understanding of the contributions and role of regional bodies engaged in health in Africa, the ASH project undertook a study to compile the evidence on regionalization and the relationships, limitations, and strategic advantages of regional actors. This study contributes to the similar but larger scale landscape analysis commissioned by Harmonizing for Health in Africa (HHA) with support from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
