Dreaming with Girls: How Aspirations Shape Contraceptive Use

Collaboration: A360, PSI, Save the Children, FP2020

Young people are critical drivers for sustainable change. Health and development organizations are increasingly partnering with adolescents to program around what matters to them today. Access to contraception alone simply is not enough. Tools and approaches that engage and respond to young people’s needs can bring young people one step closer to achieving their life dreams and aspirations. PSI and Adolescents 360, in partnership with Save the Children and FP2020, hosted a webinar exploring what it takes to bring aspirational messaging into adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH) programming.

Topics explored in this webinar:

  • How can we work with adolescents and youth to program around their goals?
  • What does it mean to listen to young people to define those dreams?
  • How can contraception be positioned as a tool to help young people achieve their visions for their lives?
